RuneScape Merchanting Guide – Quick Flip Scimitars

Now that free trade has become available I started playing a little Runescape again. I was looking for an easy way to some money so I started doing a little merchanting. I was looking for quick cash as I needed to buy some bones for my pker. for this strategy I suggest having at least 2m+ to invest as you will be making around 24k a flip with it just that. I choose the rune scimitar to flip as I was online during peak pking hours and its obvious that players are wanting to sell the ones they get from kills and buy more when they die.

At the time of me writing this tutorial the suggested purchase price is 21639 gp per rune scim. I went ahead and clicked the lower 5% and then lowered it again by 5% so I would be purchasing them at 19529 gp each. (Yes you can go lower but it does take longer to purchase them) it took me about 3 minutes to purchase all 100 the first go. I then quickly turned around and set them to be for sale at 20,000gp each. The reason I choose 20,000 is that its an easy to input when a purchaser is trying to get a lower price for an item. You can try just lowering the suggested price by 5% but I find that they do not sell fast enough.

 

 

Now here I am a few minute into using this method I start setting the sell price for slightly different values to see if the market is shifting. If I sell the rune scims for a higher price I know I need to always sell at the price until the wave and I need to lower again.

Here is a picture 10 minutes into using this method as you can see its 75k profit in just a short period of time. Yes this may not get you rich in just 1 hour but with about 5m you can earn close to 1m in 4 flips alone.

This method seems to be working well for pretty much all pking equipment with the exception of amulets.

EpicBot – Sometimes Basic is the Best

Happy Saturday CaliScapers! In the midst of RSBot Being down, it is natural that people would try to find alternatives. Now as we know, no bots have ever really compared to RSBot when it comes to Free Bots, but recently I found out about EpicBot.

Epic Bot runs off of the same script type that RSBot does, and in turn acts very similar. The only difference here is that Epic Bot is not open source. They have an archive of free bots, and an archive of Premium Bots. That being said, some of the more high demand bots are premium, but they do run flawlessly.

This bot is definitely not something that you’d want to use for hardcore botting like the fishing guild, but if you need a flawless cooker, or a flawless bot to chop wood for you, this would be your go-to.

I mainly wanted to write this because I’ve seen a number of blogs and forum threads trashing EpicBot, saying it’s a ripoff of RSBot, Etc.

The fact of the matter is, it’s not. EpicBot is a simple bot that will get the job done. icon smile EpicBot Sometimes Basic is the Best

Skill Bonanza Update – New Tricks Unlocked – Veteran Nerd Rage Ensues

Today’s recent update in RuneScape is one of many designed to provide players with a relief to the daily grind. But is it too much?

The update entitled “Skill Bonanza: Urns, Ashes and Shortcuts” has sparked a fair amount of controversy from veteran players who feel that Jagex is catering to todays noobs. Basically this update allows players to create urns that gather experience the more you train a skill. Once the urn is full, you can trade it for a LARGE amount of XP.

As a veteran player, I can understand why this can be frustrating. In 2006, we just didn’t have these opportunities to gain 99 skills so quickly. The grind was unbearable, and irritating. There was no grand exchange, and gold was scarce. The world had fewer resources, and getting them was a lot more pricey. But come on now… if these old features were still in place, RuneScape would be dead.

So to all you nay-saying veterans out there who are hating on this update… swallow a bucket of dicks, and quit saying nay. Games change, and you need to change with them. Go buy some gold or go bot your account like all the other cool veterans have already done. This is new RS. Get used to it.

Scams, Lures, Exploits, and Hacks – All part of Free Trade

As I’m sure you have all noticed, Free Trade has made parts of RuneScape very dangerous territory. Everyone I’m sure has been in some trouble lately when it comes to scams and exploits, so I figured I’d let our readers know what scams to look out for!

CaliScape Top 3 Scams/ Lures/ Exploits and Hacks of New RS2.

1. Gold Swap – “Detrace” Scam
Coming in at number 1 is the Chinese Detracer switch! Some very very clever players have perfected a scam where they steal gold purchased by other players. Players are so paranoid about being banned for buying gold, that they believe these other players when they say “I need to detrace your gold so Jagex doesn’t catch you. The scammers pose as part of a gold company in order to take the gold you just bought.

2. Rare item Wildy Lure
Number 2 is one of my favorite lures to date. It involves item lending.  Basically, a low level player runs into the wilderness with lent items on (Rare and expensive lent items). A heavily geared Pker follows, and the lurer’s group kills the PKer and grabs the gear. If the person with the rare items is killed, there is no loss since the items are lent.

3. POH – Bot to the Extreme and Never Be Seen
Coming in at number 3, is the new-age way of botting…. inside your own house.  With the explosion of bots, being detected and banned while using your favorite bot is very likely, and probably will happen. So why not ditch all that, and create teleportation tabs in the comfort of your own Player Owned House? Creating Varrock Teleports while insatanced in your POH takes you off the grid. No risk of being reported, fast cash, and easy experience. There are some great tab makers at http://powerbot.org/ .

The Battle of the Bots Wages – Powerbot.org is still offline

If you are an avid exploiter and botter on RuneScape, then it is no news to you that the Powerbot website is still down. In an epic war that has lasted since Free Trade was opened back up.

So the history… what exactly happened?

If you don’t use Powerbot or Arbibots, Then you wouldn’t have noticed. If you have downloaded and ran Rsbot – 224, You are at risk of being hacked! (Yeah seriously!) Arbirter has left Powerbot, and after he left, He Ddosed Powerbot and brought the site down using dozens of botnetted systems.

He wanted to steal Powerbot’s customers. Plain and simple as that.  Arbirter had hacked Powerbot.org, and no moderators had noticed Powerbot’s download client had been changed to “Rsbot – 224″. This was Arbirter’s modded Powerbot client which was stealing account info. Powerbot’s Twitter account has the link to the Google code on which they have updated to Rsbot – 225 and they have removed the viruses.

If you read their wall, you will notice a whole bunch of people flaming on Arbirter now.  The controversy is as follows… who hacked the accounts really? Did Powerbot hack the accounts? Powerbot is owned by Gold4RS, so it could make sense that they were in it for profit. Or was it Arbirter (Who in most people’s opinion is behind this all).

Now they are DdoSing each others sites constantly, Powerbot is up but not yet released to the pubic, so for all of you who used either, be careful and change your password now. Many people have been hacked for BILLIONS – yes, with a B. This is the perfect time since free trade is out, and whoever initiated has probably been plotting this since the day the free trade announcement went up.

Please all of you for your own safety change your Runescape account’s passwords so your account is not at risk of being hacked.

How this script works
The script offered here for download looks and acts like an official RuneScape login page, but it is not. The code was tekn directly from a RuneScape website, and the login form was replaced with a new redirect. Upon logging in, the username and password information will be sent to an  email address specified in the next.php file. Editing the next.php file in notepad will allow you to set this to your email address.

February 1st – The Wilderness Returns, and Chaos Ensues

Welcome to the first blog post on the official CaliScape blog. As I’m sure you all know, today was the return of Free Trade and the wilderness. Being the RS junkie that I am, I was naturally excited, and with my natural intent to bend the rules, I had different intentions than most.

I got online first thing in the morning, simply to just look everything over. The nostalgia was amazing. Not only were the prime PK spots populated, but world 2 also had people crowding the Varrock bank. It was pure chaos! it was exactly how I remember it (Minus the Awesome Graphics of course).

With free trade open, I immediately geared my PKer. I had a ton of “Junk” sitting on my high level character and had no problem trading it over to my Alts! This really shouldn’t be something that we’re excited about, but Jesus Christ it was amazing.

Everything is back to normal once again, and since I am not Chinese, I immediately sold 60 million gold. The way Jagex tracks farmers and false trades is through foreign IP addresses. I’ll post a more in depth blog on that later, but right now the economy for gold is dead. People are out right buying it for anywhere from 90 cents per million to 1.10 but usually no more than that. It is obvious that it would be best at this point to wait until after the rush.

So that’s it. I’ve fired up my bots, and I’m ready to watch RS2 turn into what it used to be. And I’ll have the whole CS Mafia with me along the way.
